Whale Watching in Hervey Bay has become an important attraction for tourists and naturalists. The whales travel from the Antarctic and arrive in Hervey Bay each year from late June till early November. The travel down this time of year because the water is a lot warmer and it allows them to give birth to their calves, mate, indulge in some playful antics and generally take a break from travelling before their long journey back home to the Antarctic.
The “Spirit of Hervey Bay” is the only whale watching vessel in the world that offers you the chance to view the Humpback whale closer than you ever thought possible. The vessel has two underwater viewing rooms located in the hulls of the vessel, each with four viewing windows. These windows allow you join the whales underwater as they play around (due to there curious nature) and often dive back and forth beneath the boat.
