Enjoy a relaxing day out cruising the sheltered waters of the Great Sandy Straits on board the luxurious new vessel “The Spirit of Hervey Bay”. Unwind as we cruise leisurely through the spectacular pristine waterways of the Straits weaving our way around the many islands, sand banks and wilderness beauty spots. The forces that formed the Great Sandy Straits have created a stunning aquatic playground. Discover the abundant wildlife that inhabits the clear waters of the straits. Keep an eye out for dolphins, turtles and dugongs. The Straits are also a favourite haunt for a variety of sea birds.

Our itinerary takes us sailing past Round Island, Little and Big Woody Islands, down the Western side of Fraser Island, along the way enjoying passing sights with an informative commentary on Fraser Island Pearl Farm, Kingfisher Bay Resort, McKenzies Jetty ( a relic from Fraser Islands logging and sawmill days), Ceratodus Wreck, Wanggoolba Creek, Ungowa, right down to Yankee Jack Creek with its sandy beaches and crystal clear water. Along with the many spectacular sights the straits has to offer other activities include marine wildlife spotting and swimming in the warm, safe waters of the bay, taking a guided creek tour on our 20 seat support vessel or if you prefer something a little more relaxing just sit back and enjoy the serenity of the bay with a cold beverage in hand. Also included is a sumptuous buffet lunch of cold meats, tropical salads and delicious prawns.

The Spirit is a family owned and operated cruise business established in 1987. Features of the vessel include 4 levels of stable, comfortable seating, licenced kiosk, four bathrooms, amphitheatre seating and open air top deck for spectacular views across the Straits. A great design is our Underwater Viewing Windows, you never know you may spot some marine life in their underwater playground. We shall be cruising at a leisurely pace at times, along with reaching speeds of 22knots for a fast, wind in your hair experience. We pride ourselves on catering our cruise for all age groups to enjoy.

Bring along your swimwear & towel, sunscreen, insect repellent, hat & sunglasses, camera and a little extra spending money for souvenirs and cold refreshments.
